Fantastic Experience. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, making it convenient to explore the area and access key attractions. The room was impeccably clean, providing a comfortable and relaxing space throughout my stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!". .

Low value and bad customer service vs. other hotels with similar 4 star rating. I thought the location was great. The lobby was nice as well and check-in was fairly easy as their staff did speak english. The room amenities were what you might expect for a 3 star+ hotel in Seoul or Tokyo: slippers, PJs, complimentary water and tea, toothbrushes.
Some real big letdowns that have me rating this hotel as a 2 were:
1. We did not get to experience the bar on their top floor as we were told we couldn't enter due to it being reserved for their happy hour guests at the time. We asked how to pay for this additional perk and then were just denied outright.
2. The bathtub leaked water when showering due to how it drained out of the tub as opposed to into it to go down the drain. This resulted in soaking floors and mats and potential slip hazards.
3. A HUGE issue was the lack of ability to cool our room. The room was very hot, despite staying during a time of 40 degree weather and having the window open. The room has an AC panel that gives the impression you can adjust cooling or heating as needed, however, it did not actually work. When we realized the air conditioning panel wasn't working, we called the front office and they said the temp was controlled centrally and that the most they could do was bring a fan. The fan wasn't enough and we continued to be hot while sleeping for the duration of our stay.
4. Something minor was that they just didn't provide clean drinking glasses when remaking the room for the day. We had to ask for that too.
Overall, this hotel looked great in the pictures, but our experience with service and amenities did not justify the high rating we saw from others and higher cost of the room vs. others in the Myeongdong area.. .

Winter Seoul. The Royal Seoul Hotel is my go-to hotel in Seoul. It is in the heart of Myeongdong, which is famous for its shopping stores and street food.
The only minor drawback is the centralized heating in the rooms, which can become a little uncomfortable since it cannot be adjusted manually.. .

Fantastic. Amazing stay in a great location. This was my first time in Seoul and I was very much overwhelmed on deciding where to stay. I finally took a chance on this hotel and didn’t regret it. I upgraded to the club lounge and it was certainly worth the extra money, especially with regards to the extra perks like drinks, breakfast, and snacks throughout the day. The room was a good size especially by Seoul standards and the bathroom was clean and spacious, loved the bidet and heated seat! Staff were friendly and helpful especially with directions and recommendations around the area. They even allowed me to borrow an adapter after mine broke. Location is in the heart of the Myeong-dong district and though it was cold, snowy, and icy while I was there, it was really easy to get around almost anywhere. Only downside is that there is no individual control for the heat/AC in the room as stated by other reviews so I was prepared and though it was warm in the room, it was not unbearable at all. Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area and would love to return in the future.. .

Great location, staff not so great. The bed in our room was massive and the hotel is in a great location. Just a doorstep away from the hustle and bustle in Myeongdong.. The staff were not helpful and friendly. I had asked the staff whether I could book a taxi to get to Seoul Station and he told me no - and then I asked how could I catch a cab and he proceeded to tell me that he can’t help me and I’ll have to find my own way. Lucky I found out that I could use Uber to get to the station. It was extremely disappointing more help wasn’t offered..
