Poor quality F&B, cold service. I’ve been staying at the Westin Josun for more than 15 years and sadly this stay was likely my last.
Whilst the location is very good, close to Lotte department store, major shopping streets and in my case my main Seoul office, the hotel’s service and standards aren’t as expected.
Having reached out to the hotel via the Bonvoy app due to a very late planned arrival I was asked a number of question, seemingly in anticipation of providing a Titanium-related upgrade which here seems like a very big deal since it has never happened to date. Upon arrival, to a fairly curt agent, I was told I was upgraded to a suite with a smaller bed and would need to move to another suite the following day. I declined and took a standard room.
Whilst the hotel did send a few biscuits to apologise, this is a pretty representative experience of the bizarre service - from asking for a paper cup in the breakfast restaurant and being denied (although the lounge has them) to the very poor quality of the food served at breakfast and in the exec lounge, to a slow and perfunctory check-out. No warmth, poor quality of F&B and overall a fairly unwelcoming place.
Not sure why this is evolving like that, quite likely the impetus of new management, but I’m going to try another option for my next visit in a month.. .
